lizardhood

We grow back.

A small reptile in a hood that is too big for it. It has been cut, dropped and left for dead, and it is still sitting on the same rock.

Field notes

Tail
Drops it when something grabs on, walks away, grows the whole thing back. It has done this more times than it can count and it has never once looked upset about it.
Blood
Cold. Its temperature is whatever the room is. Nothing spikes, nothing crashes, nothing about the weather is taken personally.
Grip
The toes hold to glass, bark, stone and anything else put in front of them. Letting go is not a reflex it was born with.
Hood
Never comes off. Not for weather, not for company, not for anyone asking what is under it.
